What Stephanie’s Clients Say:
I’m 58 years old. I was diagnosed with a herniated disc, and have been living in occasional pain exacerbated by lifting. As a professional photographer, carrying heavy gear to location shoots is regularly required. It is important for me to have the ability to lift.
The Center’s fitness manager recommended I work with Stephanie because her background included working in a physical therapy practice. She created an exercise routine designed to protect and strengthen my back. She checked with me regularly to make sure I was doing it right and feeling okay. I decided to train with Stephanie once a week. Within a few weeks, my back pain lessened. One year later, my back feels better than it has in years! I was able to reduce my twice weekly chiropractor appointments to twice a month. Stephanie observes how I work out and makes adjustments as we go. This helps me avoid developing unsafe habits. She always asks how I feel after my workouts. Stephanie is great at communicating and motivating. She has a cheerful personality.
With her help, I am now pain-free, which was my biggest goal when I started training! I can lift without worrying about hurting my back. I look forward to my training sessions with Stephanie.
As a 45-year-old woman with a torn ankle ligament that never healed properly, I needed someone who understood my fitness limitations. Center management recommended Personal Trainer Stephanie because of her physical therapy background and ability to train in the pool. After working with Stephanie, the limitations I had on land (such as weight-bearing exercises) became areas I could tackle in the water. She teaches me proper technique so I don’t reinjure myself. She has the ability to reassess “on the fly,” considering how my ankle feels on any given day. Then, she restructures our pool workout to avoid putting stress on the ankle. She really listens. Stephanie also makes our workouts fun. She encourages me to challenge myself in ways safe for my ankle. She is extremely supportive of my wellness goals. Her knowledge and expertise help me maintain my recent weight loss, keep toned, and feel good about myself. I never thought I would enjoy a workout so much!
Nine months ago, I started my amazing fitness journey with Stephanie after being overweight for many years. Working out with Stephanie several days a week, while being careful with my eating, produced amazing results. I lost almost 100 pounds over the past year. I’m in the best shape of my life. Stephanie’s approach to progressive strength training allowed me to pursue the hobby of indoor rock climbing, which I always wanted to try and now enjoy. Also, her experience in physical therapy settings helped with an Achilles heel issue I had, which no longer bothers me. She is very innovate, and the first to introduce a Tabata fitness class at the Center, which really motivates me. Whether it’s a private session or small group training, Stephanie always gives 110 percent. She has made a huge difference in my life. If there really is a fountain of youth, this is it. Thank you, Stephanie!
I was at a crossroads when I began working with Stephanie. I was in the worst shape of my life, overweight with little stamina or strength. I could either accept I would retire in a rocking chair as a passive observer of life or become the active, dynamic person I used to know. I decided on the latter. If it weren’t for Stephanie, I never would have stayed the course. Stephanie is non-judgmental and encouraging. The workouts are never the same twice. She customizes each one to suit my needs and ability, gently challenging me. Stephanie has an endless supply of exercises to improve each area of the body. I’ve been with Stephanie for six months now. I am proud to recognize subtle, but real, differences that make a huge improvement in my everyday life. Stephanie has given me the motivation, knowledge, and skills to make lifelong changes so I can achieve my optimum level of health and well-being.
Working with Stephanie has been life changing. I started training with her while recovering from a knee injury and dealing with college weight gain. Her physical therapy background has been invaluable to me. She consistently finds ways to modify workouts as needed while still building my strength. She challenges me beyond the limits I thought possible, while still knowing when I had enough. I am stronger and healthier than ever. My body shape has completely changed. I owe it all to Stephanie, her expertise, and support. Plus, she is a lot of fun. I look forward to exercise rather than dread it. Stephanie makes the whole fitness experience enjoyable.
Having fibromyalgia for over 25 years, I learned to live with daily pain. Every time I attempted an exercise program, my pain increased. It took days to recover. The facilitator of a fibromyalgia support group shared information about the Move Well Program. I had a lot of trouble with my balance, so I decided to give exercise another chance. The Program included one day on land and another in the pool. I did better in the pool. Since then, I started Aquakinetics with Stephanie, the same trainer I had in Move Well. In 3.5 months, I lost weight and inches. More importantly, I gained confidence in exercise and improved my balance. Stephanie’s skills focus on each person’s needs and limitations. Her enthusiasm and encouragement help make the Center a place I enjoy. When I started, I had to hold the treadmill with both hands. Now, I can walk hands-free and maintain my balance. I attribute this to Stephanie’s focus on core work. It has made a major difference in my life, and has given me another tool to manage my pain. Thank you, Stephanie. You work miracles!
