I joined the Center to grow in strength. The world can be a wild place, and I don’t like feeling vulnerable in it. One night, I met Tyler while he was training a colleague of mine. Working with a trainer had been on my mind, as I had no real idea what I was doing for the last 6 months of being there. He was approachable and informative. My goal was “simple” – I want to strength train and mainly to powerlift. He listened to my whys and started a plan. For the last 11 months, I have had Tyler’s strong support in that goal. As a trainer, he has taught me workouts and techniques that I have never heard of or was too intimidated to attempt on my own. He challenges me to test my physical limits as well as my mental blocks. And he is always mindful of my safety, or if it looks like I’m going to vomit on a leg day. With Tyler’s guidance, I hit silver in the women’s category at Strongperson earlier this summer and am working toward gold this winter. If it doesn’t end with gold. I am stronger than I’ve ever been, which is huge considering I took up weightlifting as my newest midlife crisis. It’s also been a great cathartic outlet after a heavy workday. I would recommend Tyler to anyone serious about their training. Just don’t book him on my nights, please!
